Four Thieves Vinegar is a traditional herbal remedy with a long history, particularly in European folklore and herbal medicine. Legend has it that during the time of the Black Death in Europe (14th century), four thieves were able to rob the homes of plague victims without contracting the disease themselves. When they were eventually caught, they offered to reveal their secret in exchange for leniency.

It turns out, the thieves protected themselves by using a mixture of herbs and vinegar, which they applied to their bodies and clothing. The exact recipe varies, but it typically contains a combination of aromatic herbs such as garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage, and lavender, steeped in vinegar for a while to extract their properties. 

Centuries later, Four Thieves Vinegar still has protective properties and lights a path during dark times.  It's used as a remedy for ailments. It's associated with disinfecting persons or areas, repelling insects from a person or area, and general tonic. * Our four thieves contain three kinds of high-quality vinegar, high-quality virgin olive oil, and several fresh herbs.

The Four Thieves may be worn on the skin, used on the face, used in baths, on objects, or in rituals. However, it is oil so be aware of possible staining. We don't recommend ingestion.
